Truth Story aims to be a forum to discuss any area where Christ can be named. Whether it’s in the realm of traditional apologetics, moral issues, or the fringe.

I have launched several websites in my career. Each project is different. Truth Story is different in that it’s the first ministry-related project. So it’s the first time it’s made sense to publish a personal theology.

This project can reflect the spiritual teachings that have been interesting and helpful to me personally. More specifically, I want to remain curious about every potential area of apologetics. Sometimes that matches what exists in the everyday world of Christian apologetics, but sometimes not. This post provides a bit of vision-casting for what I envision this project will cover.

An Apologetics Project

Apologetics = Defending the Christian Faith – Warwick Castle, England

For starters, I want to tackle standard apologetics questions. Popular questions are still important and more can be said about each objection to the Christian faith as the internet continues expanding. That’s why I plan to cover traditional apologetics topics like…

  • The Reliability of the Bible
  • Old Earth vs Young Earth
  • Truth and Relativism
  • The Problem of Evil

The enemy has planted many lies in every area of Christian theology and doubts assail both believers and non-believers alike. I would like this site to cover the major apologetic issues of our day. It will take some time to build out the content, but traditional apologetics should be a key component to the type of material we will explore.

“But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15)

Moral & Controversial Component

But it doesn’t end with traditional apologetics.

Controversial and moral issues are also important in apologetics. Problem is that moral issues can alienate potential audience members. That’s why some apologetics ministries don’t take strong stances on topics like homosexuality, transgenderism, polygamy, or abortion.

I can understand the concern. When you take a stand on a culturally-divisive topic, you risk alienating many people. If a ministry wants as much influence as possible, they act accordingly: they avoid controversy.

However in my mind, these moral issues are really sin problems. If the core message of the gospel is “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15, emphasis mine), then why would we NOT discuss pet sins. Sure we could grow a bigger audience by ignoring sinful homosexual activity, but we also would be ignoring an integral component of the gospel: how people sin.

Fringe or Paranormal Elements

But this project won’t be another traditional apologetics site or morality project. For one, we couldn’t duplicate the  excellent efforts of carm.org or afa.net – there’s just too many established resources in those two areas. But two, I want to keep things interesting for me.

That’s why I plan to cover topics that most apologetics ministries don’t research. Whether it’s called fringe, paranormal, and something else, I think these more obscure areas have been neglected in the apologetics world. For example…

  • Near Death Experiences (NDEs)
  • Demonology
  • Nephilim
  • Ghosts
  • Aliens

To me, there’s tremendous apologetic value in these areas. The enemy has implanted error in every area of learning and human experience including the paranormal world. Many people have been deceived to believe in the New Age, Occultism, and the like. Scripture can speak to these areas as well.

“For it is written, ‘As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.'” (Romans 14:11)

Curious About Anywhere Christ Can Be Named

Bottom line is Truth Story should be a forum to discuss any area where Christ can be named. I want to stay curious. Whether it’s in the realm of traditional apologetics, moral issues, or the fringe, I would like this project to explore every area where God’s word has a say.

Because Jesus is Lord everywhere (Acts 17:24).
